Common Problems
Why do the
menu items change each time I visit the shop?
The shops use dynamic menus. This means if, for instance,
we have no Laptops/Notebooks currently for sale, the
menu item for Laptops/Notebooks will not be visible.
This means you don't waste your time viewing an empty
shop section.

Why does my
basket contents disappear?
RDC sets a time limit of 20
minutes on the basket. The reason for this is that otherwise
people may put items in their basket and never buy them
denying others the opportunity to purchase them.

Why does
the site prevent me from purchasing an item?
The RDC site contains a number of safeguards to prevent
misuse. If you proceed to the checkout then your basket
becomes locked to prevent you adding further items.
If this occurs you may restart your session by closing
your browser and re-opening it.

Technical Support
How do I tell
if a system unit contains a CD ROM?
Any system unit on the RDC site that contains a CD ROM
drive will contain the phrase "CD" in the
description.

Do RDC offer
any technical support?
RDC does not provide formal technical support, however
we will attempt to answer any queries you may have.

Please ensure that you leave a name and telephone number
and we will do our best to help. RDC are not able to
offer technical help with software related issues –
please refer to your software supplier for assistance
in this area.

Payment
What rate
do you use for conversion to Euros?
RDC only accept payment in UK pounds sterling. Your
credit/debit card provider will convert to your own
currency at their rate applicable at the date and time
of purchase. RDC do not control the conversion rate.
PLEASE NOTE: Deliveries outside the UK Mainland will
incur additional delivery charges. Please contact the
RDC offices before ordering.

Can I pay
in my own currency?
No, RDC only accept payment in UK pounds sterling. However,
if you pay by credit/debit card, your credit/debit card
provider will convert to your own currency at their
rate applicable at the date and time of purchase. RDC
do not control the conversion rate.
PLEASE NOTE: Deliveries outside the UK Mainland will
incur additional delivery charges. Please contact the
RDC offices before ordering. Credit / Debit cards must
be registered in the UK.

Can I order
online and pay by cheque?
RDC only accept payment by credit/debit card online.
You cannot reserve goods on the web site and pay by
cheque.

What credit/debit
cards do RDC accept?
We accept most UK registered credit and debit cards
on our site including Mastercard, Visa etc. We do
not accept Electron as this is a "Buyer
present" swipe only card and we do not
accept American Express. For security reasons
we do not accept credit or
debit cards registered outside the UK.

Why was
my payment not authorised?
We are not able to tell why a transaction was declined,
this is a matter between you and your card issuer. You
should contact them for further information on your
card account.

I want to cancel
my order, what do I do?
If for any reason you want to cancel your order, you
will need to call us on 0870 774 4777 and ask for the
Security Check team. We will also ask for an email or
faxed confirmation of your request before we cancel
an order.

Warranty & Returns
Do RDC offer
any warranty on goods purchased online?
All goods carry a 28-day return-to-base warranty except
where stated. Consumables such as laptops/notebooks
batteries, toners, printer ribbons and cartridges are
not covered by a warranty. No warranty is offered on
laptops/notebooks batteries, which may be supplied with
the goods. We do not check the life expectancy of a
laptops/notebooks battery and whilst this is a vital
part of a portable machine we will not warrant or test
these batteries. The functionality will still be tested
through our technical process using a PSU. This matter
is taken into consideration when pricing these goods
for sale.

What do I
do if I have a problem with the goods I receive from
RDC?
In order to resolve this situation we ask that you complete
our RMA Request Form so that we can issue you with your
unique RMA – returns authorisation number. This
number will be your tracking number with us should you
wish to check your return status at any point.
We will endeavour to raise your RMA within 24 hours
(applicable only between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday
to Friday and excludes bank and public holidays) with
this email will be detailed instructions as to how to
return this item under our 28 day return to base warranty.
The warranty period is as quoted in the original sale.
Please note that RDC are closed from the 22nd December
until the day after the New Year bank holiday.
An RMA number will only be issued to goods that are
within the assigned warranty period. If your item has
exceeded its warranty then we will advise you of this
by email/fax.’

Do RDC
offer any warranty on consumable items?
Items such as toner or ink cartridges, tapes, ribbons
or other items that are commonly replaced during the
life of the equipment are not covered by any warranty.
This includes service kits and any other form of expected
periodic part replacement. No warranty is offered on
laptops/notebooks batteries, which may be supplied with
the goods. We do not check the life expectancy of a
laptops/notebooks battery and whilst this is a vital
part of a portable machine we will not warrant or test
these batteries.
